Bingo Players loses beautiful soul, Paul Baumer

Bingo Players, made up of Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Baumer, are a Dutch dance and electro-house group originated in the Netherlands. Known best for their hit, "Cry", Paul & Maarten will forever go down in EDM history for making some of the greatest electronic songs known to man. The above track is called "Rattle" and was nominated for the world's best song at the World Music Awards.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of half of the magic made on stage. Paul Baumer passed away this morning after being diagnosed with cancer only five short months ago. All Bingo Players shows will be cancelled for the remainder of the year, as the friends and family of Paul Baumer take time to deal with the loss of their loved one. On behalf of myself and the entire worldwide EDM Family, we send our thoughts, prayers, and massive amounts of love out to the friends and family of Paul. Only the good die young <3

Jon Gooch, better known for his multiple stage names, Feed Me and/or Spor, is a drum & bass and electro house producer from Hertfordshire, England. Jon released his debut studio album titled "Calamari Tuesday"on October 14th of this year which features fifteen original tracks. The above song, "Trap Door" features Hadouken!, a British band formed in 2006 by singer and producer, James Smith and his girlfriend, Alice Spooner. Feed Me's fast paced tempos & groovy sounds, mixed with Hadouken's bad ass lyrical content create a diverse piece of electronic music for all to enjoy!

Reel Big Fish, an American ska-punk band from southern California, will be taking State College by storm on November 18th. The above song, "Sell Out" was their very first hit that was released in 1996. The track gained its mainstream acclaim in the late 90's, which was just the early stage of success for this group. After 21 years of line-up changes, Aaron Barrett, lead singer, guitarist and song writer, remains the only original member of Reel Big Fish. The band's latest 2012 release called "Candy Coated Fury" is a beautiful mixture of brass instruments, groovey tunes, and extraordinary musical talents.

Accompanying them will also be Five Iron Frenzy, a band formed in Denver, Colorado in the mid 90's. Not only are they known for their many years of faithful success, but nearly eight years after their disbandment in 2001, Five Iron Frenzy produced a fan-funded album titled "Engine of a Million Plots" through a historical Kickstarter program that raised $30,000 in under an hour. The long-awaited album will drop on November 23rd and can be preordered here!

OceanLab is a vocal trance group formed in London nearly 13 years ago. Consisting of the members of Above & Beyond, plus female vocalist, Justine Suissa, their original success began with the single "Clear Blue Water". This above track is called "On A Good Day" and happens to be one of my personal favorite songs ever. Although OceanLab is no longer producing music, Above & Beyond's success will continue to escalate with their millions of loyal fans and weekly radio show called Group Therapy. Above and Beyond is also currently ranked #17 on Top 100 DJ's in the world.

Color Map of the Sun

Released on July 2nd, 2013, A Color Map of the Sun is American electronic artist, Pretty Lights' newest, and in my opinion, best album yet. Double vinyls, CD copies, and a documentary, which was filmed during the making of this double-disk album, were all released together on the day the album dropped. Pretty Lights, aka Derek-Vincent Smith, has headlined more monumental events than almost any other EDM artist. Derek is also widely known for constructing one of the most unforgettable light shows in the world. (Hence the name, Pretty Lights.)

Leighton James and Christian Strigley make up the group Adventure Club. Based out of Montreal, Quebec, this duo started as a punk-pop band, but later chose to move onto a path of electronic sounds and heavy drops to accompany the high-pitched female vocals that AC is known for. Along with touring across North America, Europe, and Australia, Adventure Club also made their first appearances at Ultra Music Festival this year in Miami and South Korea. The above track is titled "Lullabies" which features Yuna, a Malaysian singer and songwriter.

Chicago native, LoBounce is fairly fresh to the EDM scene. Creating a new style of electronic dance music called "Drippy Bass", his unique drops and complex beats are sure to take the nation by storm. I personally discovered this artist through the song "Letters In The Sky" originally written by Civil Twilight. The above song takes the original version and twists it into an electronic masterpiece full of intoxicating rhythms.

Robert Card (founder) and his three friends, Blake Teriago, Austin Grey, and Cole K, better known as Blackmill, are a young mix group who are fairly new to the EDM scene. All under the age of 20 years old, Blackmill creates melodic "chillstep" with strong piano and soft flows that puts them in tight competition with DJ's who have been in the game for years. Let It Be is also featured on Krewella's third Troll Mix.

Troll Mix

In December of 2012, Krewella released an hour-long mix that contains over 30 songs into one beautiful work of art. Since then, four more of these tracks have been created. Troll Mix Volume 3 is my personal favorite and contains a few well-known songs such as, Cracks by Flux Pavilion and Eyes On Fire by Zeds Dead
These are perfect for traveling^^^

Song Of The Day 9

DJ Carnage- born Diamante Blackmon, is a producer of hip-hop, progressive-house, and trap music. His popularity evolved from his trap remix of Hardwell's song, Spaceman which was released almost a year ago. Carnage performed at his very first live festival performance at Ultra Music Festival this year. Although Carnage is planning to stray away from his "trap roots" and steer more towards house music, which he says is his "true love." His Carpe Diem attitude and genuine interest for exploring the musical spectrum is continuing to thrill ragers alike.

Rave Safe

Rave Safe

The most recognized name in the EDM scene, is not one of a DJ, but a drug that has held its place in music for many decades. Two young people, one man and one woman, died of overdoses over Labor Day weekend from the well known drug, "Molly" (or pure MDMA). The start of this drug goes back to 1912 when a German company used it as an appetite suppressant. It became popular again in the 70's by a group of therapists using it for psychotherapy. The illicit rise of the drug became evident during the 80's and 90's. Molly can be found as a crystal "rock", in powder form, or inside of a clear capsule.

In the past month, Safe Raving Awareness has been brought to the attention of hundreds to thousands of ravers due to the recent deaths at Electric Zoo Festival and many others at similar events. If you haven't already, please check out this public message from Beatport that encourages people to Rave Safe!
                            Message From Beatport

I do not condone the use of illegal drugs... However, if you choose to do drugs, be responsible about it! Drink water even if you aren't thirsty, chew gum, enjoy the lights, and dance until it hurts. Listen to your body; Keep yourself hydrated!! Ask for help when you need it and take a break if you're overheating or feeling overwhelmed. Remove yourself from uncomfortable situations and always stay with a friend to avoid getting lost in crowds. Safe raving everyone!

InsPLURation

P.L.U.R.
The term PLUR was coined by DJ Frankie Bones in the mid 80's during the acid house movement in the UK. The acronym stands for Peace, Love, Unity, & Respect. In todays world, PLUR is the credo of the rave movement and Electronic Dance Music culture. PLUR is all about accepting people for who they are regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, etc. Ravers show their mass amounts of appreciation and loyalty to their PLUR family by trading homemade "Kandi" bracelets and coming together at these amazing EDM events.
